How to Land a Full-Time Job by PIRATE KING

How I got my first full-time job by PIRATE KING

An opportunity to learn while getting paid

If you find a job soon, great. But I’ll be honest. Despite doing all this, it will still be bloody challenging for most of you to find your first full-time software engineering job. But let me share what I did in the interim. I looked for part-time developer jobs. That’s how I built my career. I started as a part-time game developer in Japan, getting paid ¥800 yen or about $8 an hour.

There are similar jobs in the US, too, including remote ones! If you’re still unconvinced, my friend’s first coding job was part-time Python engineer in the US. How do you find one? The almighty Google! Where there’s a will, there’s a way. Embrace your part-time job as an opportunity to learn while getting paid. That’s how I landed my first internship at NCSoft, then my first full-time job at ebay, then Amazon, Microsoft, and so on.
