For those who don't know me, I'm PK, a software engineer in Seattle. Iโve worked at Microsoft, Amazon, and ebay, and currently work at another Fortune 500 company (after ๐ฌ saying no to Google, lol). I was born in South Korea ๐ฐ๐ท, immigrated to Canada ๐จ๐ฆ, studied Electrical & Computer Engineering โก at Carnegie Mellon University, and then flew to Japan ๐ฏ๐ต with a dream of becoming a game developer. ๐ฎ After returning to South Korea and meeting my lovely wife โค๏ธ, I finally made my way to Seattle to work for Amazon. Since settling in Seattle, a lot has happened in my life. I moved to Microsoft a year after working for Amazon, learned to play drums ๐ฅ, fought and survived COVID-19 ๐ฅท, and started a YouTube channel, which now has over 200,000 subscribers. ๐ I never imagined my ๐ฌ A Day in the Life of a Software Engineer WFH video would become a worldwide hit, topping 7M views! ๐ฑ And here I am, 597 days since my channel's launch, writing my first weekly newsletter to yโall. ๐
I'm really excited to share my stories and updates with you. ๐ Just a heads up, I'm still learning the ropes of newsletter writing, so please be patient with me. If you notice anything that needs improvement, feel free to let me know. I'm always open to feedback and suggestions. ๐
